Letter from the director

Dear Parents,

You want the very best for your child. At Seattle Learning Center, a licensed Seattle child care and preschool provider, your child will be in a safe and nurturing environment that encourages them to:

  • Experience a variety of physical and stimulating play activities
  • Develop their artistic and learning skills
  • Interact and socialize with other kids their own age
  • To have fun, play and be happy!

The mission of Seattle Learning Center is to provide an exciting learning environment for children ages 1-5 years old.  Our focus is to provide stimulating early care using art and physical fitness to help children develop a healthy mind as well as a healthy body.  We aim to inspire children to be life-long learners and establish a cooperative relationship between parents and staff.

Currently, we offer the following child care programs beginning September 2012:

Half-day Programs

  • A morning Pre-K program (8:30am-12:30pm, Monday to Friday, September to June) for children ages 4 to 5 years old. This program follows the Seattle Public School calendar.
  • An afternoon Pre-K program (1pm-5pm, Monday to Friday, September to June) for children ages 4 to 5 years old. This program follows the Seattle Public School calendar.

Full-day Programs

  • A full-day child care program (7:00am-6:00pm, Monday to Friday, January to December) for children ages 12 months to 5 years old.

As a Queen Anne preschool, we are conveniently located on 115 Boston Street. There is a parking lot in front of the school for a safe drop-off and pick-up. We have an outdoor play area right next to the school. In addition to that, our facility is also within walking distance of three parks, grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and the Queen Anne Community Center.

We are very proud of our physical fitness programs. Our classrooms have padded flooring and we have lots of equipment for physical activities. We have physical education lessons everyday that includes dance, music and movement, and gymnastics.

Here is a testimonial from one of our parents:

“I have been meaning to post a recommendation for the new Seattle Learning Center preschool that my daughter just started in last week. She is just 2 and we’ve been on many wait lists for a long time so I was thrilled to find out about a new option nearby, and once I visited I knew it would be a great fit. She is having a wonderful time and the teachers are so caring and supportive. I couldn’t have asked for a better place for us to start her in this new experience. It’s bright, clean, well supplied, with a great balance of books, toys, art supplies to expand their creative, cognitive and language abilities, as well as a great play space that is used to further develop coordination, physical agility and confidence. Something that I hadn’t really seen before but the kids LOVE it! Thank you Lily for your hard work in getting this started. I believe that the school you have started will speak for itself!”
