Seattle Learning Center, a play-based early learning and preschool, just created an opportunity for a remarkable teacher to join our teaching team.

A bit about us…
Ten years ago, our founder Lily Talley opened Seattle Learning Center. Born in the Philippines, Lily has always wanted to be a teacher. She used to play school with her friends using rocks and sticks as pretend pen and paper. Being one of six children, she put her interest in teaching to good use when she taught her younger brother to read. As a child who grew up in poverty, she learned early about the importance of having a quality early childhood education. Her life experience and passion for education has proven to be a great differentiator for our school.

Currently, we are 21 employees strong and we are growing quickly. In fact, we are highly rated amongst the Seattle Yelp reviewed schools in the area. Click here to visit: https://www.yelp.com/biz/seattle-learning-center-seattle-5

Seattle Learning Center is passionate about working with kids. We use a play-based philosophy that emphasizes creativity and physical activity. We believe that free play and guided play at our center will teach children valuable social and emotional skills that will lead to more fulfilling lives and academic success.

To accomplish this, we pursue teachers who are just as excited about a play-based early learning program. We expect our teachers to be both personable and professional. Most of our teachers have a Bachelor’s degree partnered with experience in childcare settings. We value community and take pride in our low turnover that allows our staff, students and their parents to feel more like family.

Seattle Learning Center works with families of all backgrounds. Our student population is made of all different languages, cultures, family structures and children with many different abilities. Our families are just as passionate about play as we are. We believe that working with parents is absolutely essential and we work together to make sure each child’s needs at home and school are met.

We deliver a strong proposition to our families, with benefits of low ratios, educated staff, a safe environment and quality care for all the children at our center. And it’s working… We have had multiple families who have sent all three of their children to us! Starting as infants and graduating to kindergarten!

What sets us apart are two things: play-based care and our character.

  1. We focus on how we can best serve our families, students, staff and community.
  2. We are an incredibly consistent culture based on three distinguishing characteristics: passion, growth, and excellence. When you meet our team, you’ll understand these aren’t just words to us. Our teachers are at Seattle Learning Center because they want to make a difference in the lives of young children.

A successful teacher at Seattle Learning Center contributes in many ways.

  1. Being a part of the Seattle Learning Center teaching staff means you are a team player. We pride ourselves in our ability to build community, have flexibility, and work with each other to make sure the needs of our children, parents and staff are met.
  2. At Seattle Learning Center we are passionate about our work. Watching children develop and playing a vital role in this process is what drives us.
  3. Our teachers are eager to learn more. With benefits for professional development and annual trainings, we are constantly changing and becoming better teachers and individuals.

You’ll have 1-2 Rockstar teachers to help you. You will be working with a Rockstar team that is truly passionate about what they do. In addition, you will receive:

  1. A high hourly rate based on experience
  2. Health Insurance Bonus
  3. Paid Time Off (10 to 21 days depending on length of service)
  4. Paid Holidays (11 days)
  5. Professional Development and Training Reimbursement
  6. Meals on site
  7. Paid planning time up to 4 hours per week for lead teachers
  8. Career advancement opportunities

The challenges are great (as are the rewards).
