Seattle Learning Center is located in Queen Anne Manor- a senior living center. On Tuesdays and Thursdays our preschool program reads books and does crafts with the residents. Many of our preschoolers refer it as “grandma time.” Every other Friday you can find our toddlers running around, singing and dancing with the residents.

Now, research is suggesting there are a variety of benefits for children to have social interaction with elders as well. Parents believe that their children interacting with senior citizens is making them more comfortable around adults who are elderly or have disabilities than those children who are not exposed to these types of interactions.
The Atlantic wrote an article that discusses this topic further. We encourage you to read it and come check out how SLC and the residents at Queen Anne Manor interact regularly!
